8 new restaurants we're excited to try

Fort Mill will soon be home to many new restaurants! There are even a couple of new ones we haven't tried yet, because, well quarantine, but we'll be giving them a go soon!

Blue Smokehouse & Bar - Brought to you by the folks of The Office Craft Bar & Kitchen, Blue Smokehouse & Bar is expected to open late summer 2020 off of Doby's Bridge and the Bypass. It will be a fast casual smokehouse with a full-service bar and homemade southern sides. (article edited June 17 to add Blue)

Emmet's Social Table - The well-known Waxhaw, NC restaurant is expected to expand to downtown Fort Mill in summer 2020. Taking the place of what used to be Southern Sugar, this will be their second location serving American-style tapas, craft beers, creative cocktails, and a variety of wine. Not sure if their menu will be the same, but check out their current menu, as well as a gluten-free menu they offer.

Epic Chophouse - Opening their second location in Kingsley Town Center, Epic Chophouse is currently a local treasure in the Lake Norman area, "offering exquisite steaks and seafood, specialty cocktails, and generous portions." No doubt it will be the go-to steakhouse in Fort Mill. Check out their current restaurant menu.

Legal Remedy Cantina - Scheduled to open in several weeks at Riverwalk Carolinas across from the Giordana Velodrome. Legal Remedy Cantina will focus on Mexican fare with a Southern flair, Mexican lagers, craft cocktails and of course your original LRB favorites. We haven't seen a menu yet, but hear that specialty tacos are in the making.

Model A Brewing - Tega Cay's first brewery is expected to open this fall, with a focus on exceptional craft beer, great food, and a welcoming family friendly atmosphere." Located behind the Tega Cay Walmart at 177 Stonecrest Blvd, they'll be serving healthy, tasty, and sharable options (think tacos!). Read more in this Charlotte Observer writeup.

Palermo's Italian Eatery - Expected to open summer 2020 in Riverwalk Carolinas, Palermo's Italian Eatery boasts authentic Italian dishes, pastas, pizza, strombolis, and their own version of a pizza roll. They'll also have fresh meats and cheeses for grab-and-go. Hailing from New York, owners Joe and Nick "share a love for Italian food and culture that came straight from their parents in Palermo, Sicily." Check out their menu.

Salmeri's Italian Kitchen (OPEN) - Brought to you by South Carolina State Chef Ambassador Amy Fortes and her husband Jon, the owners of Flipside Cafe and Flipside Restaurant. Salmeri's opened this spring in Springfield Town Center, offering casual Italian fare and homemade pastas and pizzas. Check out their menu.

2020 Tavern (OPEN) - The new restaurant is located where what used to be the Dixie Pig Tega Cay. We haven't been but know they have a killer lineup of live music on the weekends and a great back patio that's perfect for social distancing. Check out their menu.
