Elks Hoop Shoot is a National Free Throw Contest that has been conducted for over 50-years. This year Rock Hill Elks lodge 1318 offers kids in York County the chance to compete, have fun and the opportunity to move on to the next level of competition at the District, State and even the National competition to be held in Chicago, IL in April 2025 with expenses paid by the Elks organization.
Youth ages 8-13 advance through each level - Boys and Girls compete separately in each age group. There is no fee required to enter - It's completely free of charge. The kids compete in three separate age groups - 8, 9 - 10, 11 and 12, 13. Six National Champions will have their names and photos displayed at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts.
You don’t have to be the fastest, biggest, or strongest athlete on the court to sink one free throw after another. Practice and precision are the name of the game. When you step up to the free throw line, it should be a level playing field.
The Elks National Foundation and the entire Hoop Shoot team nationwide are committed to making contests fully inclusive, equitable, and safe for all our participants and volunteers. We welcome and encourage all eligible kids to give the Hoop Shoot a shot.
