Fort Mill student's goal to hit $10K in donations for St. Jude by May 1st
Jessica, a Baxter Village Resident and a junior at Fort Mill High School, is working with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to end childhood cancer and is on a mission to raise $10,000 for St. Jude by May 1st (she's almost halfway there!).
She was selected to be a member of St. Jude Leadership Society Charlotte her freshman year, and has participated ever since, serving as a Peer Advisor for the past two years. She has visited St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis twice and knows first-hand that it is a very special place.
Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened in 1962. They will continue to work until no child dies from cancer.
Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food so they can focus on helping their child live.
St. Jude shares the breakthroughs it makes, which means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands of other children.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
In addition to donating here, you can also eat at Empire Pizza on May 1 from 5-8pm where 10% of the proceeds go to Jessica's campaign.
With a $50 Donation:
You can have cookies or brownies delivered to the person of your choice in the Fort Mill/Charlotte area. This could be for birthdays, anniversaries, a thank you, thinking of you, or a good luck message.
Need your dog walked, grocery shopping done, some-one to babysit? You pick the task and the donation amount.
Pay it forward to someone else by having cookies delivered to postal workers, Fire and Police departments, hospitals or retirement communities. It’s your choice!
