Melanin Parks Foundation to host a Juneteenth celebration on June 17 & 18

The Melanin Parks Foundation is hosting "Remembering the Ancestors", a Juneteenth Celebration, starting Friday, June 17th through Saturday, June 18th.
The Friday events will be held at Steele Street Park and will include outdoor adventures including kayaking, fishing, s’mores, an outdoor movie, and food trucks. Guests can arrive at 3:30 PM, and the fun begins at 4:30 PM.
On Saturday morning, the Remember the Ancestors 5k & Fun Run will kick off at 600 Steele Street beginning at 7:30 AM. This 5k walk / run is for all levels.
On the evening of Saturday, June 18th from 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM, Melanin Parks Foundation is hosting "Remember the Ancestors: A Night of Jazz” at the historical Clebourne House in downtown Fort Mill. This event will celebrate African American culture and its rich history through jazz, art, and cuisine. The evening will feature music by Charlotte's phenomenal saxophonist Shableek and International Jazz artist Julian Vaughn️️️; an exquisite art gallery; and delectable food provided by Fine & Dine Events, the catering arm of Fish Market Bar & Grill.
A percentage of proceeds from this event will help the Melanin Parks Foundation's goals to address the whole child through education, experiential environmental opportunities, financial literacy, and physical wellness.
