Piedmont Medical Center-Rock Hill Offering Extended Mammography Hours During October

To make it easier for area women to get their yearly mammograms, Piedmont Medical Center-Rock Hill is offering extended hours on Mondays throughout the month of October at The Women’s Diagnostic Center, 218 S. Herlong Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29732. Patients can make an appointment until 6 p.m. on Mondays. To schedule an appointment, please call 803-329-6878.

Gina Carey, Director of Radiology at Piedmont Rock Hill, encourages women to get mammograms on a regular basis. “Screening for breast cancer through mammography is the best way to detect breast cancer early, before any symptoms or warning signs appear and when the long-term survival chances are greatest.”

Susan G. Komen Foundation offers, “Screening mammography is good at finding breast cancer, especially in women ages 50 and older. It’s the most effective screening test used today to find breast cancer in most women. Screening mammograms can find breast cancer early, sometimes up to 10 years before it could be detected by you or your doctor.” For more information about Piedmont’s women’s services, please visit piedmontmedicalcenter.com.
